Introduction to Black Silicon Carbide:
Black silicon carbide is an artificial mineral with advantages such as high hardness, good thermal stability, and strong resistance to chemical corrosion. Therefore, it is increasingly used in the manufacturing of abrasive tools, high-temperature engineering components, and important masonry in metallurgical industry furnaces. At present, the industrial production of black silicon carbide takes quartz sand, coke, salt (sodium chloride), wood chips, etc. as raw materials, high temperature resistance furnace as the main equipment, and carbon dioxide in quartz sand reacts with carbon in coke under the high temperature of 2200 ℃ - 2500 ℃. Silicon dioxide reacts with carbon to generate black silicon carbide, and the reaction formula is that the generated silicon carbide crystal undergoes manual selection, crushing, magnetic separation, screening, and other processes after being discharged from the furnace, ultimately obtaining pure silicon carbide. Its hardness is between that of corundum and diamond, and its mechanical strength is higher than that of corundum. It is brittle and sharp, and has a certain degree of conductivity.
